Ashley and I photographed Cosette and Jason's wedding a while back. Since Ashley photographed these, Cosette and Jason have welcomed their new baby into the world. Jessica

Ashley shot these maternity photos for her cousin back in August. They were shot in the sculpture garden/western gateway area. She's since had the baby and Ashley was able to capture some first moment photos of them at the hospital. Check out a few of Ashley's favorites below.

Carmen and Ron

Ashley and I along with Chad Doty photographed Carmen and Ron's wedding early last year. Ashley was pretty pregnant at that time and Chad was starting to learn the ropes of working with me as we geared up for Ashley's absence. It was one day where every little decision we made turned out great. We wanted to get outside photos and with the ceremony and reception at the same location we decided to do so before the ceremony...well as we were heading back inside it started to rain. It was a good call.

As several of our recent posts have alluded to we are now seeing one of our amazing wedding couple's lives come full circle. Carmen and Ron are now expecting, actually have had the baby now, but were expecting when these photos were taken in June. We love to be a part of someone's life. The photos we capture are the gateways to the memories of our past. What we do has amazing power and we want you to know how much we respect it. Congratulations to Carmen and Ron.

Jessica

Sticking with our theme of babies, here is a recent maternity session with Jessica. Ashley shot this one in the sculpture garden area. It is easy to get both an urban feel as well as park look in that area. We will see what some of the new developments do to this as most Des Moines photographers lost a great spot near the Science Center due to reconstruction of a storage building and the destruction of an older building. All in the name of progress. Can't argue with that. Check out a few favorites below.

Ethan

Babies are a common theme with us these days. Several of our past newborn package babies are expecting new siblings this year. And as many of you know Ashley and I are expecting ourselves. It is definitely baby days around here. Ashley and I have been photographing Ethan for sometime now and he is getting bigger all the time. While he is not two yet, I am sure his mom and dad would agree with Jerry, it looks like his time as the baby is up. Camille

Camille is currently expecting and due next month. She came into the studio for a maternity shoot. As you'll see in the photos she had her young daughter in some of the photos. Her daughter just happened to fall in the no photo zone...also known as 2-4 years old. For some reason this is a danger zone for trying to get photos. As you'll also see in the photos, we were able to get some great shots. Below are a few of my favorites.

Jen and Family

On Monday Steve and I photographed maternity photos for Jen and family. We shot them on a family farm near Norwalk. The setting was perfect for some truly unique photos. Little Grace wasn't cooperative the entire time, but she was cooperative enough as you can see. She was breaking smiles through every once and a while. We had a great time. Dawn, Josh, and Carsen

Dawn and Josh are expecting twins any day now...well maybe not any day, but it looks like any day. Yesterday, Ashley photographed maternity photos for them. Ashley had some specific ideas and they were up for whatever. We started at their place just getting a few casual shots of them hanging out. Ashley had one specific spot she wanted to get a photo at near an open field and a gate...then we headed downtown to get a few urban shots. Dawn, Josh, and Carsen were great. Sometimes little kids don't like to cooperate with photo shoots....most of the time. But you just let them throw some rocks in a puddle and they are good. Below are a few of our favorites.

Mindi and Tim

This weekend I got the opportunity to sneak over to my cousin Mindi's and take a few quick maternity photos. I have been excited for this shoot since she told me a few months back that she was once again expecting. She is a great to work with and very easy to photograph as you can see in the photos below. Congratulations Mindi and Tim, I can't wait to see baby Boston! Only 33 more days.
