More Nuzum Boys
My brother Mike has three sons, I have three sons, my dad had three sons and now our cousin Aaron has 3 sons. No daughters in the bunch. Aaron and Amanda recently welcomed twin boys, Calvin and Camden. Ashley shot this photos back in April i think, yes the blog is THAT far behind. Are any Nuzum girls in the future? At least we know the family name is safe.

Photographing Christmas Morning
So not everyone has the equipment or know how to light their Christmas morning photos to look their best. They own a point and shoot or whatever they may have and capture the moment as it happens. With family photos capturing the moment is the most important thing. Once you are sure you can do that achieving optimal quality comes next. For our Christmas morning photos I followed the Strobist plan for lighting Christmas morning.
I had the lights setup a couple days in advance and practices shots from all over the room to get them right. Photos of them walking into the living area, opening, moving around, and just about everything in between. The setup is pretty simple. 2 Canon 580EX II's triggered by Pocketwizard plus ii's. Shot with a Canon 7D with the Canon 24-70L. They were setup on two light stands about 5 feet of the ground pointed up at the ceiling. Each light was in the perpendicular corner to the tree. The farthest light away was angeled at mid ceiling and the light closest to the tree was straight up. Below are some of the results...

Nuzum Boys
Anyone who knows anything about the Nuzums, know that they produce a lot of boys. I have two brothers and three sons, and three nephews. No sisters, no daughters, no nieces. Check out this recent photo shoot with all the third generation Nuzum boys. Trying to get six boys to smile at the same time...yikes.

Parker Nuzum
Ashley and I are proud to introduce Parker Nuzum. Born Thursday, July 15, at 3:11 pm. Parker weighed 8lbs, 3.9oz and was 20.5 inches long. All of the below photos were taken within the first 24 hours of Parker's birth, with the exception of the going home picture which was taken at 27 hours. Here's Parker...

Baby Nuzum #3
This past Monday Ashley and I photographed...err...were photographed by our future sister-in-law Kaylee. As some of you know we are expecting baby Nuzum #3 mid-July. Baby Nuzum gave us a little scare so we rushed to get some maternity photos taken before they arrive. Kaylee did a great job. The boys, who are around the cameras enough to know how to operate them, just don't like having their picture taken when it's not on their own terms. They were in them though, so that is what matters. Below are a few of our favorites. THANKS Kaylee!

Kites
A few weeks ago we took our two sons out flying kites. We'd tried before, but they just didn't have an interest. For whatever reason they really had an interest this day. We shot some video and pieced it together with an Arcade Fire song. Check it out... and go here to see it in HD.

Omaha Zoo 2010
Ashley and I have always made it a point to visit the Omaha Zoo once a year. It started when we were in high school and has continued now that we have kids. Having kids just makes the visit that much more enjoyable. We now visit each year on our second son's birthday. It's a fun way to start a new family tradition and gives us an excuse to take ridiculous amounts of photos of anything and everything at the zoo. Here are a few variations of two photos from this week's trip.

Buzz and Woody
Halloween has come and past, but our boy's are already talking about what they want to be for Halloween next time. This year Cole picked out costumes for both of them. He wanted to be Woody and Gavin had to be Buzz. He also thought he got to pick out costumes for Mom and Dad....not the case.

Hot-Air Balloon Ride
With it being the busy wedding time of year, Ashley and I thought we'd share some photos from the celebration of our 5th wedding anniversary. We are pretty reserved and not too adventurous for the most part, so we decided to do something a little more exciting. After some Googling, we scheduled our hot air balloon ride with John Jensen from Hot Air Addiction. John was awesome. We've been rescheduling our ride over the last month to fit into to both of our busy schedules. Finally we caught a good night with good weather. Ashley and I both had a great time. John was a great pilot and willing to answer all the questions I had about ballooning. Below are a few shots we took...

Gavin's One Year Old
Most of the people we work with meet our two boys at some point. Gavin is coming up on being one year old. Time has flown by for us and we sometimes forget where all the time has gone. Who are we?
When selecting a wedding photographer you really need to know who you will be spending the most important day of your life with. When we sit down and meet with couples we get a good sense of who they are, but we really don't know if they get a good idea of what we are like. Knowing your photographer as more than a business transaction is important. Ashley and I want our Brides and Grooms to know us a little better. Here are links to our personal facebook pages. Holidays 2008
This past week, Ashley and I self photographed our family pictures. While I thought it might be tough with both the boys it actually went really well. They are learning quickly about cheesing for the camera. Sometimes a little too much cheese. Ashley custom created our Christmas card for this year. It is below. Happy Holidays to all!

Ashley and I actually got the chance the take some pictures of our two sons in the studio the other day. Cole and Gavin are no strangers to the camera. We have a couple of wild animals and Ashley is certainly the zoo keeper.

Lisa and Family
I went to high school with Lisa and recently we were able to take some family photos for her. Any time you throw five kids into one setting your bound to turn out some great pictures. Gavin Christopher Nuzum
The latest member of the Nuzum family joined us at 6:17AM on March 31st, 2008. Gavin Christopher Nuzum came screaming into the world. Wedding Season and Nuzum Family Additions
As the new wedding season approaches and our time dwindles, we are ready to welcome a new member to the Nuzum family. Ashley is expecting and we are both anxious for our new baby to arrive. With the new baby we will be quite busy this year. We are looking forward to getting out and making this a great year capturing the moments of many people's lives and making our own.
